Martin D-19 190th Anniversary Guitar
This is a really cool guitar! It is the Martin D-19. 190’th Anniversary. It is number 159 of 190 built To commemorate 190 years of Martin Guitar. This is basically a Custom Shop D-18 with a Mahogany back , sides and neck, that features an Adirondack Spruce top with forward-shifted X-brace scalloped Adirondack bracing. the bridge and fingerboard are Guatemalan Rosewood, a premium tone wood that shares characteristics with Brazilian Rosewood. The top looks a little different because it went through Martin's Mimaki printer to achieve a figured mahogany look. The idea for this began In 1976 (the anniversary of the founding of our nation) when Martin introduced the first iteration of the D-19. It was designed as an upmarket D-18. They had stained the top to utilize spruce that was cosmetically challenged. An early nod to sustainability. Chris Martin thought it would be appropriate to dust off that model designation and make 190 contemporary D-19 guitars\ to honor our 190th anniversary. This model also embraces sustainability by utilizing cosmetically challenged Adirondack spruce tops that have been in the Martin inventory for a while. The end result is a really nice, punchy. and dynamic sounding D-18. It has a really nice setup and plays really well. It comes in it's original Martin hardshell case with the Martin Lifetime Warranty. This guitar is available for viewing at our shop, New Canaan Music, located at 90 Main Street in New Canaan, CT.
