Wayne Henderson 28 Style Dreadnought Brazilian Adirondack
Wayne Henderson buiild this particular guitar in 2009 at his shop in the little unincorperated community of Rugby, located in Grayson County Virginia. Wayne Henderson has a reputation for the high quality of the instruments he builds. It is nearly impossible to obtain a new instrument due to the demand for his instruments and his limited production output. He produces approximately 20 guitars a year. Therefore the only practical way of obtaining one is via the used and curated marketplace. This is one of those rare opportunities to get an extraordinary example of Wayne Henderson's work. It is constructed of beautifully figured Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and an Adirondack Spruce top. The neck is Mahogany and the fingerboard and bridge are Ebony. The headplate is Brazilian Rosewood and it has Waverly tuning machines. It was just set up with Martin light guage (.012-.054) strings and plays beautifully up and down the neck. The neck angle is right where it should be. The string height at the 12th fret is 6/64" on the low E and 4/64" on the high E. It has been well cared for and is in like-new condition. It does have a repaired crack on the back on bass side of the lower bout. Cracks of this nature are not uncommon in wood with this figuring in Brazilian Rosewood. The crack was professionally repaired and is stable. It is available by appointment for viewing and inspection at our shop located at 90 Main Street, New Canaan, Connecticut.
